My Reason

I chose “Miracle On Ice” because it told me to believe that miracles can happen in any critical moments and miracles can come with unexpected ways. Just like the description of the video, USA’s hockey team wouldn’t stand a chance because their players were amateurs and Soviet’s team were known as the most powerful hockey team in the world. The USA won because they believe in their abilities and they had done the best. USA hockey team’s coach, Herb Brooks, said that they were born to be a player and they were meant to be here. And with their coach’s guide and their teamwork, USA hockey team beat Soviet with the score 4-3. One of the Soviet’s players, Starikov, said that they were panicking when USA leads with 4-3 and there were only 10 minutes left. Even when USA had won with 4-3, but in the remaining time, they still played offensive.

Clock was ticking and finally, the match was over with the score 4-3 and USA won! They didn’t believe it, but that was the achievement they had reached. A pack of amateurs had beat the world’s most powerful team. On the last seconds of the match, sportcaster Al Michaels said: “Eleven seconds, you've got ten seconds, the countdown going on right now! Morrow, up to Silk. Five seconds left in the game. Do you believe in miracles?...YES!” And that was the moment the miracle happened. Just like what they said that it was a miracle on ice. Until now, we still keep the “Miracle On Ice” on our memory, as an inspiration.
